For sustainable development based on innovation, it is essential that the two main components of the innovation ecosystem, innovation supply and innovation demand, interact with each other. Although Konya is in a better position regarding innovation supply and demand compared to many other provinces in our country, the demand for innovation in the province has not yet reached the desired level. Moreover, there is a need for new actors and mechanisms that facilitate the interaction between the existing innovation supply and demand in the province. The Konya Technology Development Zone will significantly contribute to the socioeconomic development of the province as a new actor that promotes both the innovation supply and demand in the region and enables their interaction.
The design of InnoPark is based on the following seven fundamental principles:
InnoPark is a regional innovation initiative focused on sustainable regional development and global competitiveness, based on collaboration among all stakeholders in the region.
Unlike university-centered technology development zones in Turkey, InnoPark is a model located at the center of the production sector businesses due to its geographical location, while also providing geographical proximity to all universities in the region and all elements and actors contributing to the innovation process.
InnoPark is a unique structure and management model that addresses the needs and market-oriented differences of university-based technology development zone management models in our country, as it is a project initiated under the leadership of production sector organizations in Konya.
InnoPark will be established as a region where mass production activities of technological products will be concentrated, and the planning of the region's infrastructure and superstructure will include production facilities.
InnoPark is structured to have a strong financial framework and various sustainable income sources for sustainable development.
InnoPark has a structure that will ensure the effective use of the strength and synergy of the region and its stakeholders for sustainable growth and development.
InnoPark aims to work in close communication, cooperation, and solidarity with all institutions, actors, and elements operating in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship in the region and the country, establishing networks for this purpose or participating in national or international networks working towards this goal.
With the establishment of InnoPark, it is aimed to create a shift in economic activities in Konya, increase the share of medium and high-tech production and exports in the province, and enable businesses in the region to achieve sustainable competitive power through innovation-based growth. InnoPark offers office space, experimental areas, and production spaces to organizations that want to engage in R&D and software development or mass production of technological products, and allocates construction areas for those who wish to build their own facilities. Organizations operating in InnoPark receive significant tax exemptions and support according to Laws No. 4691 and 5746.
InnoPark is a new actor that significantly contributes to the establishment of a well-functioning innovation ecosystem in Konya and will intensify efforts to create a well-functioning "Innovation Ecosystem" in the Konya Region with its broad and strong partnership structure.
InnoPark will focus on the production and export of medium and advanced technology products in Konya, thus becoming a "Technology Development Zone Focused on Technological Production." In line with this goal, InnoPark will provide all kinds of qualified services for the innovation-based growth of production and service sector businesses in our region, and the establishment of InnoPark is expected to increase the share of medium and high-tech production in our region.
